Tongan Cultural Show

Held most weeks, often Wednesday evenings and is a unique opportunity for you to experience local Tongan cuisine (combined with some European cuisine for those not so keen!), presented in a buffet style. You are welcome to experience the cooking process of the UMU, which is a traditional underground oven still used in everyday life by the locals.

Our umu is behind the Sand Bar – the food will go in to the umu at approximately 5.00pm and be taken out again at approximately 6.00pm. The evening usually starts around 6.30pm, with entertainment from the children of our local primary school and you can show your appreciation for the entertainers with a donation, which goes to the group to be used for school uniforms, school fees etc.
